What can I say...

....it's FRRRIDDDAAAYYY!! (oh and old habits die hard)

But today is the start of the weekend the end of a LOOONNNGG work week and a horrid sinus infection and of course Five Question Friday...

Where is your favorite vacation spot and why?

Vacation...hmmmm let me try to remember what that is like. Since having children we have been on vacation once to Florida. Unfortunately the last few years with little babies has landed us using vacations day to be with sick littles.
I love the beach and clear water. I hope above hope to be able to take our family on a beach vacation this year.

What is your biggest guilty pleasure?

Buttercream covered yumminess.. no wait cake.. cake that I made.

I have a new recipe to share with you later lemon cake, with lemon curd filling and homemade Buttercream.

OH MY WOW.. (Andria are you reading this??)

What is your favorite fashion trend right now? Or, in the past?

I have no earthy clue what is trendy. But I am really partial to my jeans with a little stretch and a comfort waist. Man, that makes me sound old.

What are your spring break plans?

We thought we might rent a car and drive to Atlanta to see family but we need to stay a little closer to home. So we may take the kids to Great Wolf Lodge for a few days and the remainder of the week will be school and work.
B-O-R-I-N-G
What baby names do you hate?

I'm wouldn't say I hate any name. There are some really odd ones out there, but most belong to celebrity babies and I don't really know them. Clearly we are partial to different names, but not naming our kids after objects like Teddy Bear or Baby Doll.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend.

Much Love,

-H

Oh Yes it is....

FRIDAY!!!!
And what does Friday mean kids?

Why five question Friday with the lovely, skinny, anniversary celebratin' Mama M.

1. How often do you shave your legs in the winter?
Oh! you are still suppose to do that in the winter after your married.
I remember giving my mom such a hard time for not shaving and let me tell you if it's between 15 more minutes of sleep and smooth shaved legs to put in my dress pants and head off to work, well sleep wins my friend.
So, yeah maybe once a week if my husband has been a really good boy ;o)

2. Valentine's Day cards for your spouse: funny or romantic?
We don't do Valentine's Day. I am anti-valentite. I don't appreciate hallmark holidays and would prefer to recieve flowers just because rather than everybody else is doing it. I know it makes me weird. But I like me and I like weird.

3. What are you most looking forward to about spring?
Dade is going to play soccer this spring so I'm excited to see how much he loves it and making friends.

4. What's your favorite way to pamper yourself?
A mani/pedi which hasn't happened since June. If you see me without socks please just turn and walkaway before the callouses begin talking to you. It's bad, real bad, scary bad...

5. Does your tax return go into savings or do you spend it instantly?
Tax Return, you say?!?!? R-E-T-U-R-N I'm not to sure what that is..I owe I owe so it's off to work we go.

Well friend I just slid into Friday and made my link up. This weekend project home makeover continues. I know I haven't told you don't worry we have many more things to talk about. Jon and Dade are headed out in the morning for some Father/Son bonding trip to Toys R' Us to find the fastest BayBlade ever..

Hope you have a fabulous weekend that is relatively snow free.

Much Love

It's Friday and I'm at Home.

**Edited at 10:51am to include reality in my fantastic delusions from last night

It's about 10:48 on Thursday night, give or take a few seconds, I have a lemon pound cake baking in the oven. It was not done until 11:45, I was thoroughly exhausted by the time I made it to bed. I'm putting together my Five Question Friday tonight because tomorrow I have every intention of being out somewhere doing something with my babies. No, I'm at home. Barely awake and functioning. After falling in bed around 12am I was wakened just 2 and 1/2 hours later to screaming and spent the next 3 hours in various states of awake and asleep with teething 18 month olds. GOOD TIMES!! The kids however are raring to go, their voices at a pitch only one decibel below that sound that only a dog can hear and all three of them want to be carpenters this morning. If I could I would prop my lids open with toothpicks. My coffee is not working, you ask why, well because I chose this week to switch to half-caff in hopes of breaking my addiction. Again, GOOD TIMES!!

That's right people, I HAVE THE DAY OFF! WOOT! WOOT! Still happy to be with my kids, but AM SO ready for nap time.

Five Question Friday how I missed you so. I know it was only one week, but it feels like it's been oh so much longer. Pssst, I was hoping to be able to vlog this (it's addicting) but my niece is staying over and she crashed out on the couch. Not really looking for an audience to laugh at me.

1. Take your pick...date night, girls night out, or night out alone?
Date night for sure. With the littles and sparse access to weekend babysitting I would love some one on one time with my husband.

2. Can you touch your nose with your tongue?
No, people can do that? I better see some pictures, I just don't believe it.

3. What is your favorite flower and why?

I don't know why they are my favorite flower. I love the way they smell and think they are beautiful.

4. If you could go back in time, what advice would you give yourself?
Don't eat the food if you aren't hungry.
Middle school really won't matter in the whole scheme of things.
Be true to yourself and really truly don't care what others think of you. Their opinion will mean so much less as you age.
Finally, for the love of all things holy. Save your money. You do not need every.single.copy  of Bop, Teen Beat, Tiger Beat and every other cotton picking magazine with a picture of the New Kids on the Block in it. Really get a grip! you are never going to meet them and spackling those pin holes in your bedroom will suck.

5. If you won the lottery, what is the very first thing you would do?
Take a seat 'cuz this one is gonna wow you...

Are

You

Ready?

Take the day off work to find a lawyer and a financial planner. I would not quit work until the Lotto Authority verified 50 million times that we had truly won. I know that is a shocking answer, I'm just so stinkin' practical.

There you have it. I'm probably off looking at paint colors or something as you read this on Friday. Right now my cake isn't quite done yet and now I'm super-di-duper tired.

Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I do. Since our nieces are with us for the weekend we asked them if they would mind watching the kiddos while we went on a date. This got the kibosh, too. My niece got called into work on Saturday night. Not so, Yipppee!! any more.

Happy Friday Ya'll!!

Dun Dun DUNNNN!!! (5QF)

I vlogged. I got called on the carpet last week by one Mama M. (you can read that here) for not vlogging my 5QF. This week I rose to the challenge nearly passed out, fiddle with the lighting(to the point of making my husband cranky),figured out all this technology mumbo jumbo, and vlogged(in one take, for realz).

Yes! I did.. Without further ado.. Me in recorded color.

THANK YOU, YOU TUBE FOR STOPPING THERE!!! LOVELY, JUST LOVELY...

So there you have it kids, me. It wasn't too awful was it?

Don't forget to check out Mama M.'s answers and the others that linked up. If you have a blog go ahead and type up a post and join the fun.

It's going to be fabulous weather here this weekend, I can't wait to get the kiddies outside.

Happy Friday Ya'll!

It's Friday...

My Mama and Daddy are coming for a visit this weekend, Dade is getting a big wheel from them, We have our church picnic this weekend and I'm making P. Dub-ya's (Pioneer Woman for those living under a rock) Tomato Soup Cake, because it sounds so durned intriguing and I love shocking the socks off people.

Oh, Yeah and it's time for FIVE QUESTION FRIDAY!!!!(think Tina Fey doing Oprah's voice, that's how I heard it in my head) with Mama M.

1. What was the first car you owned?
1980something, two tone Plymouth Sundance

It looked just like that only its was taupe tan brown on the bottom. I worked so hard to save up and pay for half of a car. My dad and I went to the used car lot and I fell in love. We drove it, it ran great. That didn't last for too long the air conditioner stopped working about 2 minutes weeks after we brought it home, then the tape player (yeah that's right) then the whole radio and there may have been some shimming and shaking while driving. All-in-all a pretty good first car.

2. What song are you embarrassed to know the lyrics to?
Ok, maybe not so much embarrassed because I think it's a good quality for a mama. I can sing pretty much every single song that comes on Disney morning shows.
Including-- Ooo Ooo Ahh Ahh Buh-bye, Ooo Ooo, Ahh, Ahh Buh-bye.

The embarrassing part is when I bust our in song when the show is not on or worse while out shopping{GASP!} without the kids. {DOUBLE GASP!}

Ok, now that I'm all blushed up, moving on...

3. Have you ever had stitches?
Yes.

When I was 16 I had an ovary removed
When I was 21 I had cysts removed from my ovary
When I was 29 I had a kid removed
When I was 31 I had two kids removed

4. What was your first job?
I started baby-sitting when i was twelve. I look at 12 year olds now and wonder "What in the heck were those parents that trusted me thinking?".

My first real job the IRS knew about; as in I got a paycheck, paid taxes and received a W-2 was when i was 16. I worked for the local video store. Nope not Blockbuster. I grew up in a small town with three traffic lights and a Main St., four after the "big" shopping center was build. The video store was called Network Video and it had an adult movie room. EWWWW! Just to think of that now gives me the he-be-jeebees. You had to be 18 to enter the room, but I was 16 and working there, usually by myself. That is so crazy to me now... Yeah, so, there you have it my first job was at a Video store.

5. Who is your favorite Sesame Street character?
"Me want cookie!", "Me eat cookie!",  "Om Nom nom nom"
A man blue fuzzy guy with googly eyes after my own heart. I mean what is more important than the C-O-O-K-I-E!! Learning schmearning on Sesame Street. Bring on the baked goods!!

So there you have it. My 5. Don't forget to pop over to Mama M.'s and peep at her answers. If you choose to participate please remember to link up.

This weekend will be a little busy for us, hope ya'll have a blast. What are you up to this weekend?

Friday 5QF style, Like No DUH!!

Mama M. posted the question as per the norm on Thursday night in hopes that us die hards overly obsessed overly prepared can have our answers vlogged ready first thing in the morning. Yeah! you read that right I DID NOT vlog again this week. Maybe everyone will give up on me. {wink, wink}Mama M. to answer your question heck-to-the-yeah I am happy it's the weekend, even if it is suppose to rain.

One of the questions is my suggestion, and I think it is the easiest one to answers the question this week are doozies for sure.

1. What words do you use on your blog/online that you don't use in real life?

None, I actually use more words in real life that I just don't feel translate well when typed out. The lose of voice inflection and facial features leave alot to be desired when reading the typed word. For example when I say giggidty or ZINGA!! they could be translated all kinds of wrong. It appears this entire answer is now all the more reason to vlog. So that I can give you the famous stink eye as my husband and co-workers lovingly refer to it.

2. Do you still write checks?
I wouldn't if it weren't for this blasted house we are trying to sell and we have to keep the utilities on so I do write checks for that. Hopefully, the house will be sold and papers signed at the end of the month. Even then I will still write checks for my church tithe, but I use web bill pay for everything else.

3. Who was your favorite President and why?
Ummm.....

{crickets chirping}

It's bad to admit that I don't have a strong tie to any president. I kinda sucked in schools, not grades perse, but retention surely was not there.

If push came to shove I suppose I would say Ronald Reagan and his speech when the Berlin Wall came down. Oh! while were on it's JFK's Inaugural Speech is pretty awesome, it gives me goose bums to hear and to read it and see that he quoted the Scripture {gasp}. I wonder what has happened to our country. Finally, good ole G-Dub yes I'll admit he wasn't the most polished but I liked that he seemed strong and sensitive in the face of adversity. Like the kind of guy you could have over for dinner and he would enjoy burgers and dogs from the grill.

4. Are you a yeller?
Unfortunately, I do have moments of weakness when the straw breaks in the camel's back and my voice raises. Usually in circumstances of great disobedience with my children or when someone continues to not listen to me and I feel what I need to say is very important which is all the time.

5. Have you ever dumpster dived?
Taken something out of a trash can or picked up items that have been set out for pick-up, yes. Actually IN the dumpster looking for buried treasure, no. I've seen shows where that type of thing can be very profitable and rewarding if you can get past being knee waist neck deep in garbage, which I can not.
And if Mama M. answers yes to this question I will fall out of my chair, she can't buy consigned clothes so I doubt she can dumpster dive.

K, peeps it's Friday. What are your weekend plans? Have you ever been in a dumpster? Please be sure to check out Mama M.'s answers and the other chicas who have linked up.

Happy Friday ya'll!!

Five Questions (I got nothing creative)

No vlog again today, I'm still (HACK! HACK!) milking it for all it's worth sick. Maybe next week not on your life I will give it a try.

So we all know the deal. Five random questions, answers, link love, go see Mama M.

1. Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?
Ummm, hmmm I don't have any girl crushes. Whoever it is would have to have cute hair and some junk in the trunk. I got nothing... how lame am I to start off with a no answer.

2. Did you ever go to summer camp?
Negative, not a camper, don't like the heat, don't like bugs, don't like competitive sports, not really into organized physical activity, or wearing a bathing suit in front of boys. For all those reasons and many more I didn't ever think camp sounded fun.

3. What sends you running and screaming in the other direction?
Not a big fan of snakes, spiders, crumbs on the floor, vomit, clothes that can't make it to the hamper but running and screaming in the other direction I'm guessing a bolt of lightening near my tookus would warrant that type of reaction.

4. What is something you do that drives your spouse nuts?
Not a gosh durn thing. There is no spouse closer to perfect than me. Maybe that statment should send me running and screaming, where is the lightening?
Ok, so that may not be the whole truth, or maybe it's nothing like the truth. His biggest pet peeve that I do ALL the time, is leave food in the sink instead of putting it in the disposal and running the disposal, it makes him bonkers for the sink to be dirty especially with food remnants. I promise I try not to leave it that way, but I get distracted..ususally by his our children.

5. What is currently your favorite song? Yeah  this is SEXY...mmmmmHHHHmmmmm

Peeps you know the deal. Leave me a 'lil bloggy love in the comments, peep out Mama M.'s answers, write your own and link up.

Could you do me a solid today and go check out my friend Andria's blog and show her some love? She recently came out of blog seclusion and I think I'm the only one that knows. She writes some pretty funny stuff.

Have a great weekend.

I did not Vlog -5QF

Apparently Mama M.'s 5QF has taken on a whole new aspect, the vlog. I'm scared of the vlog, I'm not even going to lie. My husband has advised me that we do indeed have the equipment to facilitate a vlog, but again I'm scared. Luckily, or not so much, I'm sick this week. I am using my fever and newly acquired smokers cough to excuse me from vlogging today because really no one wants to see that. Here's to hoping I have a good excuse next week and the week after that and the week after that....

Do you sing out loud in the car when you're driving?
You know it. With some caveats however-

I can’t be in heavy traffic (I don't want people to think I'm crazy and yelling at myself or my kids)
I can’t be driving behind someone I know (I don't want anyone I know to think I'm weird)
I have to really know the song; I don’t fake it or sing up til the part I don’t know. (That's just my perfectionism talking)

What would you never be caught doing?
If I'm lucky vlogging, but I've seen Kate's determination "payoff" on multiple occasions so I'm not holding my breathe.

I really can't think of anything...hmmmm

I got nothing.

Will you go #2 in a public restroom?
Prior to having kids I would never ever ever go in a public restroom. Then I got pregnant and my ahem schedule got all out of whack and well I had to...
So in emergency situations I have and I would again, but always always with a courtesy flush.

Have you ever broken a bone?
Yep on a youth retreat as an adult chaperone I broke the bone in the tip of my middle finger. It had to be splinted for weeks. It gotten swollen and turned purple, it was truly lovely.

Do you prefer cooking or baking?
Yes please all of the above. I love to make yummy things either from a recipe or concocted in my head.

I was all pumped to promote my friend from works blog. She was going to unveil from the private blog realm and participate in 5QF for the first time this week, but I'm not at work to lean on brow beat her to participate.

Oh Andria!!! I'm gonna get you...MU HAHAHAHA!!

Don't forget to check out Mama M.'s answers and all her link ups.

Woot Woot, the week is nearly over.

At post time I will be 6 or so short hours from two days of no work. That is cause to celebrate. How do I celebrate Friday, why answering five random questions provided by the oh-so cute and talented Mama M.? Don't believe me about the cuteness or the talent, well click right here. She put herself in a fancy pants vlog (video blog) and SANG. So brave, Mama M. I bow to your greatness and your hot hair.

My Little Life

To the questions tangent girl--

Did you pass your driver's test on the first try?

Sure did, but was nervous as all get out. I grew up in the country where there was no need for parallel parking and really no place to practice. I was sure that I would hit the curb and poles representing the cars OR be too far away from the curb. Neither ended up being the case and I whipped slowly and painstakingly pulled up reversed my little car right into the spot.

What is your most embarrassing moment?
Most embarassing evah??
I'm gonna go with the toot heard round the dining room. (Originally posted here.)

What TV show would you like to be on- Oprah, Biggest Loser, or What Not to Wear?
As hard as it is to admit, I'll say the Biggest Loser. I would miss my family like crazy and oh how I would whine, but what a priviledge to be so focused on one goal, the results, and getting to the bottom of the emotions that caused the weight gain. Of course winning the whole thing and the money would be a nice perk too.

Would you ever get plastic surgery and what kind?
This is also a question I have answered at some point. Even if I get on the Biggest Loser and win (which I so would), there are some things that just can't be rescued. Like the overly stretched out skin of my abdomen. Remember with two in there I looked like this.
Yes, a tummy tuck.

What are your favorite jeans to wear?
Lane Bryant, because they cover my badonkadonk, there is no such thing as low rise with the aformentioned extra skin. Lanie (we are like that) knows how to make a curvy girl feel good in her jeans.

Soooo how about you? Did you answer and link up? You know you can answer here if you want, but be sure to pop over to Mama M.'s and show her some love.

Friday Follow and 5QF

It's Friday and since you know I'm a bandwagon type gal I hopped on the Friday Follow hop. If you are stopping by from Friday Follow, peek around, look under the hood, and thanks for stopping by.

Friday Follow

Then of course what would Friday be without a little 5QF. Since I already feel like I was kicked in the teeth this morning I was so happy to answer these questions and put a smile on my now toothless face.
Don't forget to stop by Mama M.'s and peep at her answers too.

My Little Life

Do you sing karaoke? If so, what is your go to song?
Ohhh no and trust me you are grateful that I don't. I mean I am a great singer and all in my head, in the shower and in my car but I wouldn't want to show anyone up and a record deal just won't fit in my schedule right now.

What is your favorite coffee drink?
I like coffee a lot, like a whole whole lot. For my morning cup 'o joe I buy what is on sale but I'm not a folger's gal. Now if I splurge and go to the Starbucks or Caribou it must come with caramel, extra caramel please.

If you could choose your own name, what would it be?
I'm actually good with my name. When I was younger I hated it because it was so different I would have given anything to be Kelly, Melissa or Jessica, but now I like it for that very reason. I just don't run into that many Heidi's, maybe if I lived in Germany

Were you ever bullied?
Yes, I have a post about this in my drafts. Middles school was awful for me and many things that happened in those years affect me even to this day.

How often do you eat fast food?
Once maybe twice a week, I hate to admit that, usually it's because things were extra crazy in the morning and we didn't get lunch packed.

So, come on you know you want to.. Pick a question or five and tell me your answers or do your very own blog post and link up to Mama M.

M.I.A. - 5QF

Where have I been you ask? I haven't posted since **gasp** Tuesday. Those durned people I work for, well they expect we to work, the absolute nerve. I kid, I kid, I was in a training class Wednesday thru Friday and the information overload caused me to steer clear of the computer in the evening. I should be back for the rest of the month, but March may prove to be a little rocky.

So what did I miss while I was gone?? Five Question Friday with Mama M., don't worry though I'm making it Five Question Saturday (hurry and answer before the kids wake up). Catchy, right??

My Little Life

Have you ever hit an animal with your vehicle?

I guess my only option here would be list format--

1 turtle
1 bunny rabbit
2 deer (both ran away, but caused major damage)
1 raccoon type animal (LARGE, very LARGE it destroyed the wheel well in my Honda Civic)
1 buzzard (it left guts on the side mirror and I was pregnant not a good combo)

and Finally..

1 skunk (Wretched, wretched and awful..It was summer time and the smell was stuck in my car for a LONG, LONG time)

When you see a string on your clothes do you pull it off or cut if off?

Wrap it around my hand or finger and pull like the dickens.

Did you have your own room or share a room when you were young?

This is actually my question. I did not have to share a room when I was younger. In fact I didn't share a room until I was married. Weird, right? There were only two kids in our family my brother and me. Since I'm the oldest I had the bigger room, it was yellow with multi-shade yellow shag carpet. NICE!!
I asked the question because our girls currently share a room with no other option and I wanted to see if people had good memories from sharing, so if you participated in the hop I might be stopping by.

Would you rather wear the same thing for the rest of your life or eat the same thing for the rest of your life?

At first I thought this would be easy. Without a doubt, hands down I will where the same thing for the rest of my life, but then I got to thinking... Who is going to pick the outfit? What if it's not flattering? What if I gain weight because I'm depressed that I can only ever wear one thing? What if it's not comfortable? What if it's not suitable for work?? Hmmm, well I just can't decide.

What was your favorite TV show as a child?

I don't really remember much from my cartoon stage of life so I'm going a little latter in childhood. My faves were Roseanne, Blossom ( I loved Joey Lawrence), and 90210 (Jason Priestly and Luke Perry, yummy)

There you have it, my Saturday answers to a Friday hop. Did you forget it was Friday and miss Mama M.'s questions? It's a-okay and not too late to link up, take a deep breathe and plow through the questions. Or you could just leave me a comment.

Late for an important date...

That date of course would be my weekly Friday date with 70+ 90+ (WHOA!!) other bloggers who answer the randomness that is 5QF. The creation of the one and only funny, witty, hot mom hair sportin', non-eatin of chocolate covered fruit, birthday sharin', Mama M. (Check her out, I promise you won't be disappointed.)

Why am I late?? Please check out the bottom of my previous post.

My Little Life

What are you most afraid of?
Death, I'm not really afraid of dying because I know that, I know that, I know Heaven is far better than this world but the thought of missing my babies grow, graduate, marry, have babies of their own makes me sick to my stomach. It also makes me feel ill to think of if I were every to have to say good-bye to one of my children, just typing those words makes me want to burst into tears.

Do you use a flat iron or curling iron?
Neither. Round brush and a hair dryer every.single.day...

Hands-free or phone to the ear?
Phone to the ear and never in line at the grocery store, while at a drive through or at any type of counter where someone may be serving me. I find that behavior to be rude and annoying. OH! and I really can't stand that little thing hanging out of a persons ear.

Do you have a matching bedroom set?
Big ole bummer on this one and salt in a wound. We did at our old house, but we had to sell it because the furniture was huge and it wouldn't fit up the stairs in this house much less in our room. So no.. Now we use the dressers and nightstands from the bedroom set I bought when i was 24. It's not quality stuff, the drawers stick all the time. As for the bed we use the frame we got when we got the mattress, no headboard or footboard.

Do you believe in the paranormal?
As in ghosts, no. Spirits yes sirree. Most of the time I believe the ghosts people see, hear, feel are evil spirits and quite frankly that scares me. I believe in spiritual warfare and that evil spirits if given the oppurtunity can cling to someone.

So we all know the drill by now right? Link up at Mama M.'s with your post or leave me your answers here in the comments.

Friday Faves...

Mommy's IdeaPhotobucketMy Little Life

First up Fragments-

Mrs. 4444 had this fantabulous idea to create a blog carnival where you can un-load the bits of information in your head that don't quite make a post & I love her for it.

All of our colds are finally abating. Am I the only person that is a secret hypochondriac? My kiddos start to sniffle and on the outside I'm the cool collected mama, but in my head I've convinced myself they likely have the bubonic plague

Last night we had one of the most amazing crock pot dinners. I pulled a 1½lb. beef roast from the freezer unwrapped it, dropped it in the crock pot, sprinkled with salt and pepper. Then mixed a packet of onion soup mix with a COKE poured it over the roast and cooked it on low for 8 hours. The hubs had his nose turned up at 8am and asked several times throughout the day what the contingency plan was..
It was delish..
Promise

Have you seen the Commercial for Family Guy (I don't watch the show) mom, mom, mommy, mommy, momma, momma, mom, mom, mom, that about sums up my morning. On top of being woken up three times and going to bed super late. It's going to be one of those days. UGH!!

Head over to Mrs. 4444 and check out the other bits of random that are being shared or share some of your own in my comments.

Filling In

Tamara The (Un)Experienced Mom (Is headed to Blissdom, where she will see Harry Connick Jr. SIGH  & SWOON) offers up an easy peasy question/statement on Friday and I fill in the blank with my answer. (Novel idea right??)

Today's Question/Statement-

For my birthday, the one dessert I want to enjoy the most is: _____
My Answer-

Hmmmm, this is a tough one. I have an overly active sweet tooth. Ice Cream, Cake, Cheesecake, Pumpkin anything, I really do enjoy it all. Since my birthday is at the end of May and it's getting warm my very favorite thing is to have a root beer float. Old fashion root beer in a frosted mug that is packed full or premium vanilla bean ice cream...YUMMY!!

Do you have a favorite dessert for your birthday?? Head over to Tamara's to see what everyone else is saying.

Tamara squeal at Harry once for me, ok?

Five Question Friday

Mama M. lets her kids relieve themselves outside (GASP!!) and blogs about it (DOUBLE GASP!!)
I kid, I kid... no really she asks 5 questions (sometimes cooky, crazy and off the wall) so that you can get to know me better.

Would you ever vacation alone?
As in by myself? without my husband and without my children?? Well as appealing as they may sound, I don't think I could do it. I would miss them all terribly AND I don't think I would be able to enjoy myself knowing all the work that my husband was having to do by himself and how much would need to be done to get the house back in working order after my time away. Since my mind would wonder to these things the vacation would not be enjoyable or relaxing.

Do you go the speed limit?
Can I plea the 5th?? Does anyone go the speed limit all of the time??
Residentially yes always 25 or 35 depending on the posted limit. On the highway I ususally stay with traffic and try not to exceed 10 mph over the posted limit.

Why did you start blogging/following blogs?
I feel like I have answered this one a few bajillion times. I started blogging to keep family member that lived in far off lands like Maryland updated on our family, the growth and changes in my kids. Now I blog for me as an outlet for the ideas that cramp my functional brain power, still occasionally (HA!!) talking about my kids.
Following, well now this is a new one. I follow people that I find interesting, witty and feel like I have something in common with...the list is extensive.. young kiddos at home, multiple mamas, mama, incredible thought provoking writing, good for a laugh, shared spiritual beliefs etc... I don't follow someone just because they follow me, I do check them out if they have a blog linked. I also stop following if the content changes from when I originally started following or if the blogger stops posting. Right now I follow 60+ blogs and I read them all, but I don't always comment. I'd like to get better at that.

Where do you shop for yourself?
Well let's start by saying I don't shop for me very often. Kohls and Target would be my go to places for shirts, sweaters, and sweatshirts. Occasionally, I splash in a Vicky's sweater, but they are kinda expensive.
Pants and Jeans well they only come from Lane Bryant. Mama's got a good bit of junk in the trunk and I need it covered. This low rise business that is out now is always crack revealing for my body type and I learned at a young age to, "Just say no to crack." thankyouverymuch...

What was the song that you danced your first dance with your spoue to at your wedding...or...what song would you like your first dance to be to?
Keeper of the Stars by Tracy Byrd.
He cried the first time he heard it on the Valentine's Day after we were engaged and declared it our Wedding Song. On our day he was a blubbering mess and I was all smiles. We danced, I sang to him and he cried. To this day, though I don't always show it, I do indeed, tip my hat to the keeper of the stars, He sure knew what he was doin when He joined these to hearts.
I hold everything when I hold him in my arms..

Uh-oh I'm getting weepy and sentimental..

Mama M. wants to know your answers too. Link up and visit others or you know leave me a comments, because remember I LOVE comments.

Happy Friday,

Friday, Friday FRIIIIIIDAAAAAYYY!!!

I'm faking it til I make it on being happy that's it's Friday. I'm exhausted and feel like the underside of a earthworm, slimy and gritty. Everyone in our house has got the green goop and coughs, well except my husband. Ok enough of my downer attitude.. It is indeed Friday and that at the very least means no work for two days AND maybe if all the planets align I can score a nap tomorrow. Friday also means, as you know it's time for Five Questions with Mama M.
(I promise fragments and filling in the blank will be back here next week, I'm blaming my slacking on the sickness)

My Little Life

What is better, growing old with out money or dying young and wealthy?
Hmmph why isn't old and wealthy an option? Maybe because everyone would choose that...
Ok, I choose old without money. I would be devasted to know that I left my husband and children even if they had a boatload of money. I would rather not have money and know that I got to see my children get married and have babies of their own.

Who takes out the garbage at your house?
The hubs takes the garbage out. Who does the remindin' that the garbage needs to go out? Me Who reminds the hubs of ALL the other trash cans in the house? Me, again. Who will leave the trash in our bathroom piled to overflowing? Me, because it's not my job and Him because he forgot.

Have you ever had the same dream many times?
Two in fact, from my much younger days. I had a recurring dream for THREE years, yeah that long, that I was marrying my now husband. Sometimes the dream encouraged and excited me at the promise of a future with the man I already loved and adored. Sometimes it depressed and angered me as I saw him with another girlfriend. But in the end it was a dream of truth.
The other dream I had multiple times, was having triplets, two boys and a girl . I haven't had this dream since having the girls, but it was so real and vivid that it makes a little nervous to talk about getting pregnant again. I can't imagine three babies at once, on top of the three I have (ufta!) or having 6 kids that are only 3 different ages...Whoa let me stop now before I wig myself out.

Can you play a musical instrument?
Well, in elementary school I nearly turned myself inside out to be in the band, my parents finally broke down and bought a used clarinet. I was all about the clarinet for about two weeks, then I was over it. Did you know you have to practice like a lot to be good at playing an instrument? At the ripe old age of ten I had big problems with commitment, sepcifically to the clarinet, but I would be in band all year. At the fifth grade concert I was third chair (nevermind that there were only three clarinet players) we had to stand up and play a section together. I stood up and moved my fingers, but didn't play, in fact I didn't play the whole concert.
So, yeah, ummm, no I can't play an instrument..

If you owned your own store, what would you sell?
This is a good one.. I'm not really the dreamer in our family, I am a very practical gal. My husband has tons of store ideas that I think are great. A store that sells empanadas (YUMMY!!), a sleep store (like a tanning salon only for taking naps) but the question is for me.. So my answer would be a bakery. I LOVE to bake and make Yummy treats.

Now you know me this |-| much better than before. We have pulled back another layer of the onion that is me, how about you? Go ahead jump on board the 5QF train. Did you know Mama M. had over 100 links up last week, but there is always room for one more. If you don't want to, or if you want to laugh at my clarinet skillz leave a comment. (Psst- I LOVE comments!!) Now don't forget to head over to Mama M.'s read her answers and check out what the others have said.

Happy Weekend Ya'll...

Finally Friday...

"It's finally Friday I got my motor running for a wild weekend…" well you know as wild as it gets for a mom to three, 3 and under, but I AM going on a date this weekend.

So chicas and dudes Friday means only one thing in the land of blog 5QF with the one, the only, all the way from MinnesOOOOOta, MAMA M!!! And the crowd goes wild!!
(due to multiple training classes I will only be participating in one blog hop today)

My Little Life

Worst trouble you ever got into as a teenager?
I said it before I'll say it again my parents do read this blog, but I'm quite sure there is a statute of limitation on how long you can get in trouble for acts conducted in the past. Right??
I got away with MUR-DER… Out til 5am, drinking, smoking, pot smoking.. Yeah bad, really bad.. No trouble with the law, but bad. I'm reformed now, promise.

Are you a morning person or a night person?

T-totally a night person, but I need to get better about sleep. Lately I have been up til 11 or 11:30. Right around 10pm I feel a burst of energy and get so much done. Oh!! and I can't stand getting out of bed in the morning.

Are you a one-handed or a two-handed Texter?

Only one, because my cell phone doesn't have the keyboard option; I had one that did but in the throws of new babiness about a year ago I left it in my pants pocket and tossed it in the washer. It died.. :o(  So now if I want to text the letter "S" I need to push the #7 four times..UGH, how totally inconvenient.

Democrat, Republican, or Independent..or maybe even Green Party (whatever that is).

I am a registered Republican, and of a conservative persuasion. Truthfully I take issue with the whole system a lot of the time and think something got lost in translation that there now exist men and women whose sole job title is politician..

Are you a pet person?

At one time I was; I had a beagle named Toby. I think he prepared me some for parenthood. Now, umm no thank you to pets I have enough poop, pee and puke to clean up I'm not interested in adding an animal to that.
Plus I never thought about it but Mama M. is right pets lick their biz-nass and then want to lick you… giggidy gross.

Ok so you know the dealio answer the questions and link up at Mama M's or leave a comment here…

Happy Weekend ya'll!!

Fragments, Filling, & 5Qs on a Friday

Ø      I don't do resolutions, but I have declared this year the "Year of the Project" I have four areas I am focusing on that would make 4 great posts for each Thursday of this month, but I missed yesterday, so now what.. no idea
Ø      I was drying myself off after being in the shower the other day, when Dade walk in my bathroom. The first thing out of his mouth; not good morning or I have to potty, but "Get your butt out of my face, mama" Really, this kid...

Photobucket

If I were going to be on a reality television show, I'd be on The Amazing Race.

The hubs and I have watched every season. We joke that if we actually sent in a tape and if we actually got picked for the show and if we made it past the first leg we would fight on the show just for fun and drama. (that's alot of ifs)

My Little Life

What's your "comfort food"?
Let me just fess up to something here. I like food, a lot, so the thing I pick today in this very moment, might not likely be my comfort of choosing in an hour or a day.

So right now, as I am sooo ready to eat lunch and waiting on the pizza delivery guy, I choose fresh cut fries with mayo for dipping and a super-d-duper big fountain cherry coke. (I lubs me some cherry coke) Oh, lunch is over now, since it's taking hours to actually get this thing posted, but I might choose an ice cream snickers bar if it wasn't 20 something degrees outside and only a smidge warmer in my office.

Do you send Thank You's (handwritten or email)?
I'm not so great with this and it irritates me, but I still continue to fail in this area. I have not ever sent a thank-you for a Christmas present, should you? As far a birthday gift given at a party I do believe thank-yous are in order and I have the best of intentions. For example the girls' 1st birthday party was on the 7th of November. I ordered and labeled envelopes for the picture thank-yous, but they are still sitting on the island in my kitchen. I mean really how hard is it to stick on a stamp and walk them out to the mailbox?? I am lame.

If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which show would you choose?
Current show?  Modern Family, oh my sweet lawd that is a funny show. Have you seen it?

What is your favorite online recipe site?
This one is easy peasy to answer this copykat.com the place to find nearly all restaurant recipes and make them at home. We have made Sicilian scampi from Olive Garden, Shrimp on the Barbie from Outback with the remolaude sauce and so much more…YUMM-O!!

If you had to choose: "Friends" or "Seinfeld"?

1 million times over "Seinfeld" the best show evah!! (In the words of Keely)

What!!! I almost missed it...

Well, hellllloooo 2010!!

Did you know it's Friday? Did you know that Mama M. was still going to do 5QF? Well, I sure didn't. I haven't been on the computer most of the day, ok well maybe a little facebook, but no blog reading. I've been un-decorating, re-orgainizing and purging, it feels wonderful. So, I pop into my reader tonight and find out everyone else knew this was going to happen. While it's still Friday I am rushing to answer the questions.

My Little Life

Remember how the bloggity hop work, new year does not mean new rules, K? Mama M. posts the questions I (or you) answer and link up on her blog. If you don't have a blog you can leave your answers here or over at Mama M.'s place. Then visit the others and leave comments.

1. If you could bring one character to life from your favorite book, who would it be?
Ummm, hmmm stumped already. I love love love to read, but don't retain much once the cover of the book is closed, the same could be said for movies I watch. So, I don't have a favorite book.

2. Where did you get your very first kiss?
Oy, this is only question two, right?? The first one I remember I was like 14 and this boy I didn't really care for but was seeing (read holding hands with) kissed me in front of my house on a snowy night. I told him that kissing him was like kissing my father, the hand holding ceased immediately.

3. How did you welcome in the New Year?
The whole family went to a local Mexican restaurant for dinner as for the actual New Year as in midnight, we were all asleep.  Yeah it's like that!! Because two hours later we are awake with one baby and the other woke two hours after that, then Dade was inches away from my face at 7am as I was startled awake.

4. What is your favorite Beatles song?
Their music is good, but I don't have a favorite.

5. Donuts: Overrated, underrated, or 'bout right?
Overrated for sure. Now don't get me wrong, I'll eat a donut and prefer cake. My pastry of choice is a muffin, cranberry orange from Starbucks if you wanted to know, they are the bomb diggity.

Man I really feel like my answers are stinkin' it up on 5QF this week. Please do not let this be a foresahdowing of what is to come in this New Year.

Ok, now go hit up Mama M. and please promise to come back next week. Please, Puuuhhhh-leeeze..

2 of 3

Well good gracious Mama M. went and got the question out early this morning just messing me all kinds of up and rearranging my OCD organization of posts. It only took fur-evah for me to answer because I have to work, geesh!! So now 5QF is 2 of 3 and my fragments if they ever make it out of the tips of my fingers are 3 of 3. You follow?

Anywho…The five questions this week are sticking with ye ole Christmas theme.

My Little Life

If you don't have a blog and want to play along you can leave your answers in the comments, but please be sure to throw some bloggy love Mama M.'s way too. Oh! And same goes for Tamara and filling in the blank. In my haste to get 1 of 3 posted I forgot to mention LOVE, nothing but love.

Does Santa wrap the presents he leaves at your house?

In keeping with a tradition set forth by my own Mama, Santa will wrap presents and each kiddo will have their own wrapping paper color and design. This tradition is SOO pleasing to my OCD you have NOOOO, idea.

When is you "big" Christmas celebration…Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Tell us about it…

I think I mentioned this in a previous 5QF. We do our family of 5 plus my mom and dad and maybe my popo brother on the 25th. There is no traveling. Right now it is low key but as my wee ones grow older I'm sure it will be an early morning of paper flying and then at some point me taking a nap.
So our big family get together (in MD) with my side of the family will be on the 26th. It's scheduled around everyones availability and of course Ravens games.

Are you big on keeping tradition every year?
We are still up and coming in the tradition area. There are a few new ones I'm looking forward too now that Dade is old enough to grasp Christmas. He is all about singing carols, his advent calendar, making ornaments, and talking about baby Jesus. I LOOOOVEEE IT. So we will keep what works this year and maybe start some new traditions next year til we have our fill and find what fits.

Do colored light or white lights tickle your fancy?
For me, I'm all about the white lights they are classy, clean and crisp. I having a feeling in the next few years three little people will override me and for their enjoyment I will cave to colored lights, maybe even blinking colored lights.

Do you decorate outside your house for Christmas?
Until this year no, except for a fresh wreath on the front door, but Dade got so excited to see the neighbors blue and yellow (they are really white) lights one night when we were having dinner that I told Jon we probably need to do some lights outside for our boy. I love outdoor lights so long as I don't have to put them out there and clean them back up.

Ok, so Mama M. promised to "lurve me fo'evah" if I sent you over to her bitty spot on the Worldwide web, so click here, k? Cuz one can never have too much lurve…
