Truthful Tuesday

Things I did not have on my to-do list today, but did indeed accomplish.

Blubber like a baby at my desk, all the while trying to hide it form the three men I share an office with, Elizabeth's tribute to her daughter in her Truthful Tuesday post is just AWESOME in the full sense of the word. I encourage you to read it, but have a tissue handy.

Confessions from a Working Mom

Today's Truthful Tuesday question is very thought provoking for me.

What do you really want for Christmas that money can't buy?

There are many tangible material things that I want but certainly don't need. And money can buy those things. There are things I want for myself that money can't buy, like my babies to consistently sleep through the night, more time in the day for my husband, my kids and my friends, better organization, paint colors picked out. The list could go on and on, but the question has caused me to ponder beyond myself. What do I really want?

I want people, myself included, to see past gender, race or religion and treat each other with respect and love; to take care of the hurt and hurting, to protect even the littlest ones from evil.

I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me. Matt 25:40

First, thank you for your kind words. They made my day!

Second, your answer reminded me of all the hurtful, hateful crimes I've covered on my job over just the past few weeks... children being taken from their families, hurt, and killed. It's not fair. We ALL need to take responsibility to keep our loved ones-- and those whom others love-- safe!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one with the snifflies reading Elizabeth's post!
And what a great answer. Makes me feel a little selfish with my own, inside my four walls. Good, bad or ugly, my family is intact and not damaged by the harshness around us.
What a nice reminder for me to be thankful for what I have!
