1 week, I mean, the nerve of me.

So last week I declared with a vengeance that I was back. I have shaken off the blogging funk that I was in and I was BACK BABY…and then I went missing for another week. Last weekend we had a birthday party for the two most precious 2-year olds I know. Then I was knocked on my tookus with strep throat. It was all I could do the past two days to get to work and make it to bed-time.

Now look it's Friday again. Time for one of my very favorite blog hops, 5 Question Friday with Mama M.

1. What Christmas song do you loathe?

Christmas song?? Thanksgiving hasn't even happened yet, Christmas is in December…

What song…What song…

Ahh yes..

Why did Wham ever record a Christmas song?

Last Christmas I Gave You My Heart, hands down least favorite song.

2. Do you and your significant other cuddle at night or sleep on opposite sides of the bed?

Cuddle, HA!!

Opposites sides of the bed under separate blankets, yes you read that right we don't even share covers. Thank goodness for king sized beds.

3. Have you ever had surgery?

Yep. 5 (c-sections count, right?)

Tonsils out, Ovary removed, Cyst removed from other ovary, kid removed and cyst discovered and removed, 2 more kids removed.

4. When do you typically have your holiday shopping done?

I usually start and finish in one day, sometime in December. I do a lot of shopping on-line because I really dislike shopping and I don't want to be tempted to buy more that what is budgeted.

5. If money were not an issue (and you HAD to pick something), what would your ultimate luxury item be?

Hmmmmm just one thing….

A fancy pants camera would be really nice but if it's only one thing I wouldn't be able to take classes to learn how to use it.
Pampering at the spa, like a lifetime supply of cut, color, massage, mani/pedis ohh lala…but then that is kind of selfish.

I'm gonna go with my dream house. A bedroom for everyone, on a lake, with a pool and an in-law suite (wink wink Mom and Dad)

That's all I got. Be sure to stop by Mama M's little spot of the World Wide Web. I'm laying low this weekend trying to recover and be healthy for Turkey Day with the fam.

Tap tap tap

Test 1 2...is this thing on...

My name is Heidi and I was once a much better blogger.

Did ya miss me? Do you want to know what my deal was? I tell ya, but not today. Today I got my funny back and want to participate in Mama M.'s Five Question Friday.

1. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?
Have you had your abdomen sliced open? It's pretty painful, but you know what worse, coughing after you have had your abdomen sliced open. The absolute most painful thing I have experienced thus far is coughing after surgeries, the pain shoots up and down, as well as feeling like my guts will spill out. Whew, just thinking about it made me twinge and sweat.

2. How much sleep do you get at night?
Recently (for months and months) I have been suffering with insomnia so on a good night I get about 5 solid hours, but it's usually less.

For the record, Insomnia SUCKS!!

3. How long did you believe in Santa Claus? How did you find out that he does not exist?
What?!?!?! Santa isn't real, oh please say it ain't so!!

I guess I was around 9 or 10 and I suspected that the jolly man in the red suit was not really the fella whose lap I sat on at a Christmas party. I waited up in my room in the dark until I heard rustling in the hallway. I flung my bedroom door open to find my father standing there arms loaded with packages in his underwear. He turned to look at me and said, "Yes Heidi, there is no Santa Claus. Now go back to bed and do not tell your brother.

4. What was the last movie you saw in a theater?
Toy Story 3 for my baby boy's 4th birthday. It was his first movie in the theater and he loved it.

5. What do you wear to bed?
Usually a t-shirt and pj bottoms, sometimes sweats, never nothing {gasp} and only occasionally socks, but usually not.

So, how are you? I've been awful at keeping up on everyone's blog but I hope to be getting back to my old ways very soon. Be sure to check out the other lovelies that linked up with Mama M.

Have a great weekend.

Bringing it Back

I'm fighting hard to get out of this blogging funk. I love blogging and I miss it, but I'm just in a general funk with life right now. More on that some other day, today is the day of five random questions with Mama M.'s Five Question Friday.

Do you have any nicknames and if so how did it come about?
Heid- because sometimes that extra "i" is just too much to say
He-Dee- that is what my cousin has called me for years
Sweetie- what my husband usually calls daily
H Dubs, Mrs. Dubs or something including Dubs or Dub-Ya- Our last name begins with a W and is very difficult to pronounce so it gets shortened to Dubs

What is your birth order amongst your siblings?
I am the oldest of 2, my brother is 5 years younger than me.
In a movie of your life, who would play your significant other?
Oh the options....
Tall, dark and handsome for sure...
Some options Tim McGraw (have I mentioned him before?), John Krasinski, Harry Connick, Jr.

Ok, Harry is my final answer..
What is currently your favorite song?
I can't pick just one. I love music, specifically country music.

If I'm feeling a little salty or fired up it's definitely "Pray for You" by Jaron and The Long Road to Love

Let's go ahead and add Jaron to the list in question 3.

If I'm feeling contented and ready to jam out, "Southern Voice" by Tim (like he and I are on a first name basis)

Feeling chill and ready for the weekend, "Toes" by Zac Brown Band. Not that I have seen the sand this summer but the song is great.

Are you saving your money for anything right now? Big or small purchase?Yes for something fun and exciting..

you ready?

Blinds for my house, don't be jealous..

I told you was exciting, but I didn't mean for you to fall on the floor in amazement.
Go ahead pick yourself on up.

Happy Friday Ya'll...

If you are feeling spunky answer the questions and link up with Mama M.

Just Thursday..(8-19)

Outside my window.. it was 90 degrees today but there was no humidity a beautiful day to not have been at work, but unfortunately that is where I was.
The time is.. 9:35pm
Today I feel.. exhausted. Jon was at work until 12:30 something last night and I couldn't sleep without him here.

I am thinking.. the Starwberry Fruit Bar I just ate gave my tongue freezer burn.
At the moment, I am thankful.. that everyone is asleep, the kitchen is clean and I have a moment to relax before hitting the hay
I am going.. to be buying toddler beds this weekend.
I am wearing.. a black tank top and black PJ pants.
I wish..I took better care of myself.
I am reading.. nothing, nada, zip, zilch, zero
I am working on.. birthday thank yous!

I am hoping.. the transition to toddler beds isn't too painful.
I am hearing.. Iron Chef - Battle Citrus, I think
I bet you didn't know.. I really really do not like summer at all. The break from cold weather to warm is nice but I can not stand hot and humid.
One of my favorite.. movies is Pure Country with George Strait

My weekend plans include.. transitioning the girls to toddler beds, hopefully haircuts for the girls (if I can persuade their Dad), and we hope to make to our church's Baptism picnic.

So what's up with you this Thursday? You really should link up this week because Abby is dangling a pretty cool prize if she can break her link up record.

One week ago..

My sweet boy, my first born, the one who made me a Mama turned four. I'm not the sappy type but just typing four makes me a little teary. I can hardly believe the boy that he is becoming. The way he expresses himself, his quirky sense of humor and ferocious desire to be heard. He is my heart outside of my chest.

In keeping with our family tradition I took Dade's picture the day before his birthday.

The years in review---

 Going home from the hospital.

 The day before 1.

 The day before 2.

The day before 3.

August 9th, 2010 the day before my big boy turned 4

No more chubby cheeks or baby face he is a real bonafide boy.
